If you’ve been following my posts about Alana Estate Winery in New Zealand, you’ll know that they have a fabulous Pinot Noir that just took the Gold Medal last month in SF at a wine competition. In fact, their entire current selection of wines are award winners! This is just one of the reasons I fell in love with Alana Estate.
Another reason I love them is because of the winery’s namesake, Alana Smart. I admire any woman who follows her passion and creates her own destiny. Alana and her husband Ian have put their heart and soul into their winery, and together with their world class team they continue to drive the ongoing success of this Martinborough gem.
I’ve also been posting on Facebook about Alana’s wine naming contest. Although their Lumiere Pinot Noir won Best in Class, they’re not so sure about the name. So Alana Estate is awarding the person who comes up with the most popular new name TWO CASES of their Pinot Noir! They’ve had a ton of suggestions (many thanks to our OMG Wine community!) and they’ve narrowed it down to just 20 names.
