Guest blog post by my friend @RickiLake. Yes, I said Ricki Lake.
Social media has changed the world forever. In just 140 characters or an update to your Facebook status, you have the potential to connect with a complete stranger in the same town or across the globe. In an instant, Friendships are being formed. Business is taking place. People are connecting. And the world will never [...]
Napa, wine, giving back. These are a few of my favorite things.
Family aside, there’ s not much more in this world that I enjoy more than giving back. And wine country. With a girlfriend (okay, or with Pork Chop ’cause he’s super hot…). I gathered from all the many discussions we’ve shared on my fan page that you’re also very charitably driven. Seems like at any [...]
“Domestic Diva Does Good” Thanks, WineOh.tv!
I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Monique Soltani of WineOh.tv at the beautiful Schweiger Vineyards in St. Helena last week. Monique is a huge supporter of all things wine and cause related and she took particular interest in my current charity contest with Cellar Angels.
Olive the Movie
I’ll be hosting a private viewing party for Olive the Movie, the first full length feature film shot entirely on a smartphone & is up for an Academy Award nomination!
Happy Anniversary, Porkchop!
15 years ago today I sent a letter to my family that read, “By the time you read this, we’ve been married and have fled the country…” Yup, we eloped. In all of our infinite wisdom and young, adventurous and spirited minds we decided that eloping would best suit our nuptuals. 15 years later, we [...]

Warning: Names Have Not Been Changed to Protect the Stupid…
As a mother of two girls I try my best to set a good example. And some days I have to try really, really, really hard. Today was one of those days and I thought the only logical explanation was that I was on Candid Camera. I was picking up our teen from the neighborhood [...]

Mompreneurs, Unite!
I’ve been an entrepreneur since I was 23 years old (that’s a loooooong time…). At this juncture being an entrepreneur basically means that I’m unemployable. LOL. And being that there are well over 100,000 OMG fans I thought it would be a good idea for each of us to know about other moms in the [...]
Changing the Rules of Engagement
We’re hosting slumber party #287 of summer break. Or so it seems. At this point in the game I’m seriously considering installing a turnstile at our front door & selling tickets for such occasions to offset the cost of pizza & crap food.
When Life Hands You Cheap Wine…Make Sangria!
I hope you enjoy my favorite sangria recipe. Please feel free to pass it along & also share your own recipe in the comment posts. Cheers!
Real Parents of Genius
Shout out to some “Real Parents of Genius”. You know who you are, Mr. & Mrs. “It’s All About Winning”. NEWS FLASH: WINNING IS AN ATTITUDE! And your attitude sucks. What happened to sportsmanship & teaching kids that it’s all how they play the game, not who comes in first place?
Quote of the Day
I told my husband & kids that no matter what happens I don’t want to live in a vegetative state. So they unplugged my computer & took away my wine! ~Cheers!
Letter to Mom
Dear Mom, I would not be who I am today if it weren’t for you. I have so many wonderful memories of my childhood. You let me scrape my knees, stay out until the street lights came on, play on metal slides, ride a skateboard without a helmet, suck on candy cigarettes because it was [...]
Mommy is changing her name to Daddy.
I’m seriously considering changing my name to Daddy. Not knocking all his amazing attributes or contributions the family, but seriously? This “mommy” name tag that I wear is taking its toll. I love my family, love my husband & love all the volunteer work that I do. But it’s time for me to go incognito for a short while. Sit back & reap the rewards of a family well raised & let them take care of ME. The only issue is that they would have no problem pampering me to the nines today, but I would be left to clean up the mess tomorrow!
